I made the poor choice of seeing the most recent movie on the night they showed the english one instead of the japanese one. the japanese version plays first and then the english the night after and when I was there the whole room was full of fangirls shutter and they just ruined the whole movie for me. they were all cosplaying and one girl even walked in wearing one of those long blue coats with the chains that state alchemists wear from full metal. that would leave me to believe that unlike everybody else in the room she actually dresses like that in her normal life or was just very very confused. every time L walked on the screen or ate something or opened his mouth after not talking for a minute the whole room would fill with the thunderous boom of AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLL KAWAIIIIIIIIIII DESU DESU DESU DESU DESU DESU DESU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
ironic that I went to the english viewing so I could hear the plot better and was in fact unable to hear 80% of the movie.
my god, I loved that anime. if you notice, the Letter names and stuff, the first letter of the names spell out in order some of the alphabet. K-kira, L light, or just L, M-Mel, N-Near.
not many people notice, and even less care about it, but i found that pretty clever. i love how they take a show that revolves around intelect and transform it into a great awesome anime show.Great, show, and loved how the ddeath god betrayed kira, "i told you, if you are ever going to die, I would write down your name myself."
Wonderful series all together. I mean, I like the manga ending opposed to the anime ending, and I have to say this despite having been a big fan of L. N was smart and M did get things rolling. It was as Near said, alone, neither of them could surpass L, but together they could go as far as they wanted.
The live action movie was awesome of course, which is hard to say for an anime/manga series (look at Dragon Ball Evolution). They chose all the right actors and had the best choice in where to follow the plot line and where to change things.
