@Kiyza:

I'm sorry if my last post wasn't clear :), but I totally agree with you on Gohan being able to be a protagonist. What I meant was that they had much development to be done (All three characters), Gohan obviously becoming stronger and having a child (Pan), and Goten becoming like his father and Trunks more like Future Trunks. But always Gohan would be a better protagonist. Most cause he has two different fighting methods taught to him (His Saiyan heritage fighting and Piccolo's).

And I also agree with the fact that the story was building up to make him a protagonist, in fact I remember back in the day when the Buu Saga first aired on Toonami, I remember watching and just waiting for Gohan to return to Earth and beat the living crap out of Buu. Gohan would have proved to be more of a match if he had gotten pointers from Goku (Like not to fall for Buu's tricks), since we all can agree that Goku over the years has quite a bit of fighting experience.

There are these things called quotes. They make it much easer to get your point across sometimes, you know?

Either way, strength isn't the issue with Gohan, the plot is. If Goku never came back from the afterlife, odds are good he'd be the strongest character in the series, even without the old Kaioshin's power up.

And Goku, I feel, is just as naive, and possibly even worse than Gohan. Every time I go back and read/watch the fight with Raditz, I find myself praying that he wasn't going to let go. He lets pretty much everyone go after Piccolo. It makes me miss the little tailed brat who mercelessly killed off a good portion of the Red Ribbon Army.

Alright, I'll use quotes -_-;.

His weakening of his strength is a direct outcome of the plot. None the less, if Toriyama made Gohan think in a fashion that "Oh shoot, my dad's gone now I might need to protect the world." He would have been the strongest.

Dragon Ball Nostalgia. I was actually watching it the other. His innocence played a big part in the storyline. But I guess as the enemies got stronger, his naive outlook was becoming less and less of a play. Eventually when he became a Super Saiyan it kind of went away.

That's why I believe Goten should have been played as AN EXACT REPLICA of Goku well not exact, but close. His attitude should have been the same and he should have had a tail and the Power Pole.
