SUP GUYS! This is my first time in here.
I'm so desperate with my Launcher because it ain't working no matter what I do...
The thing is that I start it as administrator because I get always the "Game initialize fail" problem.
However, I've been playing executing directly the DBO.exe running it as administrator without any trouble.
Yesterday, I was playing with a friend and the server got closed because of maintenance.
When I went to start the game again it said "AUTH_VERSION_FAIL"
I uninstalled it, reinstalled it, updated the Launcher running it in normal mode, updating it on administrator mode and ANYTHING.
I keep getting the same damned problem!
Why is it so hard to play the f... game? The team of the TW DBO are.. D'OH!

Hi Jackie,
The issue that you (and many people) have after the game is updated doesn't have anything to do with it being the taiwanese version (or any other version) it has to do with the fact that we use the language patcher to modify the game. Whenever an update is made, you must unpatch the game BEFORE the launcher downloads and installs the update, otherwise it will corrupt and you will have to re-install. This is also true for when the launcher updates the game for the first time after installation. To reiterate, the language patch cannot be applied before the game is updated or else it will corrupt, and if the patch HAS been applied you must unpatch before future updates. I highly recommend using a version of the language patcher that is 2.0 or later, as these versions have a handy "unpatch" feature making the process much more user friendly.
Secondly, you'll always want to run the launcher and the patcher as an administrator. This is because these programs alter the files in you "Program Files" folder, which Windows won't allow unless it is being done by an administrator.
Finally, I suggest following the advice in the original post on this thread concerning the backup of your "DBO_CT_TW" folder immediately after installing the game (before any language patch OR updates have been applied). This will ensure that even if the game corrupts after an update, you can easily fix the problem by deleting the folder from your program files and replacing it with the backup (rather than uninstalling and redownloading/reinstalling the game).
It's possible that I might be wrong about this, as I am relatively new to the game myself. However, I had this same problem after my first game update, and sticking to this method has prevented it from happening ever since. Best of luck!

Thankies friend, but it has nothing to be with the english patch, because I'm not using it (Atleast so far).
I'll try reinstalling again and doing a backup before updating, but the game doesn't even update, the launcher just gets frozen and sends an error when it reaches a certain download level.

Hmm, unfortunately I'm not familiar with that problem as it sounds like it's probably unrelated to what I experienced. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Hopefully you're able to resolve it soon, as we need as many english speaking players as we can get. Best of luck!

(DO NOT RUN THE SETUP AS ADMIN)
try re-installing it and running it as admin or re-install and run dbo.exe admin. REMEMBER: DELETE DBO AND ITS FOLDER THEN RE-INSTALL. Make sure u dont download the english patch until you can play. What I mean is if u are able to play the game download the english patch then, because having the eng patch before u test the game out can mess up ur game.
