Alright, so I just started playing this game and made a Namekian. I'm in the first time leap quest where you have to save Goku from the wolves, and when Grandapa Gohan teaches me charge, I can't charge my technique when he asks me to, and I keep getting blown away by his Kamehameha.

I hold down the button and press the the red one that pops up on the screen, sometimes an aura flashes around me but then he just does the normal move and Gohan dodges it, how did you guys get passed this? Am I doing something wrong?
Could any of you guys please tell me how I can pass this quest?

It's broken, you can just leave.

Does that mean I cant use the charged version of my attacks or is it just the quest?

once you've gained the ability to charge. just leave.
