I didn't get the Spotpass notification about it, but I did get the information over the internet a few hours after the news broke. And I gotta say, heck yeah Nintendo! That's how you treat your loyal customers! I'll be looking forward to those free games, and I feel sorry for anyone who didn't pick the system up early, since some of the games seem to be exclusive to the "ambassadors." With the price drop on the 3DS likely to increase sales to a degree and the WiiU getting 3rd party support and those all-important HD graphics, it looks like a pretty bright future for the company, and I'll be along for the ride.
