With dragon unpacker you don't open tex.pak. You open tex#.paks. You only open tex.pak with the resource tool.

With the resource tool, you can browse and view their names, before you decide which one to extract.

Also, because of it using and changing the header file aswell, it doesn't cause the game to crash if the file size of the modded file is different than the original. Which is a huge plus.

I really don't see how you're not getting this lol. Both Dragon Unpacker and the resource tool has a preview on the image.

If you're using Dragon Unpacker it should look like this:

This is a tex#.pak open with all the image files. After you select(click on) one a preview for it will come up.

Also, because of it using and changing the header file aswell, it doesn't cause the game to crash if the file size of the modded file is different than the original. Which is a huge plus.

That actually is nice. It doesn't really matter on images though because paint.net makes the image like 1/100 of its original size after you save it :).

Buddy.....you have to use what you have. It's hard to find texture for specific thing. I don't use dragon unpacker. I use my brain.

If i want to find a DOGI or armor i go to.
unpacked\texture\gui\icon
And i see all the icon of what item. Then i take the name of the icon.
a_bs_03_j then i go back to the texture folder.
copy and paste and search for a match if i can't find a match i keep deleting 1 letter until it shows a match. Example : a_bs_03_j > a_bs_03_ a_bs_0 > a_b untill i am able to find what i am looking for.
I been working on getting a .dds viewer that allow me to view .dds file from my window explorer but have yet to figure out the issues.

Edit: I just figure out how to view the texture in window explorer so you know what your looking at. I will be updating my information on my guide to help those who want it :)
