Funimation owns liscensing and distribution rights for video games as well. That's why games like Jump Ultimate stars, essentially the otaku's dream come true, never get American releases. It's also why Funimation dub terms are used in the video games, even the ones without voices, such as Attack of the Saiyans. ;)
The ones that hold the licence pretty much hold the power in that region. Which results in a lot of stuff being released in limited regions only due to licencing issues in others.
