What are these things for?

I used the upgrade merchant to get the glass filled with blue liquid, then I went to the hoi poi mixing master guy to get a golden capsule with that item and it had a few golden boxes in it. what does the boxes and that brown circular thing do? is it some type of ingredient for a recipe or something?
also, what are these things used for?

you know, those things that drop from the robot bug things that spawn all over the place. i saw that u can upgrade these things to get different stuff from the event manager guy. How to do that? Also, how to get the key for the chest that you get from the event manager do? I thought that it would upgrade the golden nugget thingies to an even bigger golden nugget, but that didn't work out too great

I also have the same things you have I am still trying to figure out what they are too.

it seems like i've answered part of my own question. There seems to be 3 types of robot bug thingies: a little one that drops little golden nuggets, a normal one that drops normal sized golden nuggets, and a big one that drops big golden nuggets (or, there are just 2, a small and a normal one idk) still have no clue about the other things though.

you use the brown/red thing, the gold box, and the blue liquid to craft items such as weapons and armor. You can get the recipes for these items from the crafting merchant. After learning the recipe you can click on the WP icon on the bottom right of your screen and click on the hoi poi machine symbol or you can go to the machine which is usually by the crafting merchant. Also you can destroy weapons and armor dropped by monsters to great those three crafting materials. The person who breaks down the items is a boar looking guy known as an Upgrade Merchant. Find the option that turns your cursor into and anvil and it will break the item. You will need at least 3 open spots in your inventory to be able to break down items into crafting material.
