Look at Korean MMORPG market and you'll see why KR DBO will go down. How can DBO survive against giants like Blade & SouL? Situation in TW is better. Here ppl loves dragonball z and it is easier for us foreigners to make accounts and sh*. TW server should live on for about a year. I don't know much about HK but same should go for HK. If situation won't change I give DBO 1/1,5 year of slow player base decrease and complete shutdown.
Why DBO will be shutdown instead of being one of the best MMORPG games in the market(Yep, it had potential since it is based on such a huge and commercialy successful franchise)? 1 simple word : MARKETING. If you want your game to be popular you got to make gameplay videos, trailers, announcments from time to time, you need to let people know there is Dragonball MMORPG game. How many dragonball fans there are all around the world and how many of them acctualy know about the ONLY MMORPG BASED on their beloved DRAGONBALL? I'm speaking about more than a million potential customers. But hey who gives a sh* about them? Lets release DBO in most over populated MMORPG market and see what happens. F*ck logic.
In order to maintain interest MMORPG has to get regular content updates. How many content updates DBO received in the past couple years? I mean how it changed from open beta? In order to maintain regular player base developers must communicate, listen to their ideas and COMPLAINS about bugs and fix it, make progress. They have to build strong player community, did they? DBOCOM is the strongest DBO player community and DBO isn't even translated yet. Do they give a sh* about us? They don't even respond to our messages. And we still have hope in this game despite the fact that we play this only because of the dragonball z title. This title has big impact over people, why not to use it properly? For example why from many races seen in DB universe we still have same 3 playable races? Same character creation options? Same master class choices?
I think I was too naive when tryed to raise NTL's fan base. If people don't know what to do with the BIGGEST AND MOST POPULAR LEGENDARY F*IN ANIME IN THE HISTORY I don't know any force on earth that could save this game. Well at least for a year we should still be able to enjoy this bug fest called"DBO".
I know I posted long post but ***** I'm raging. I hope they sell this game to a company who knows it's sh*.
To tell u the truth, im expecting this game to shut down and there will be more versions popping up, obviously, DBO TW players are decreasing by the moment, however, the reason that DBO TW actually started way after the korean version and that there are many many cashers can help the game. Also, DBO TW is an easy game to get into, unlike korean where u need KSSN and a lot of shit to get into.
