They actually used to be sold by the crafting vendor, in Korin Village, before the update.

Quick question ATM I busy getting my crafting level up I started with the level 1 recipes then when I got to level 5 (crafting) I bought the level 5 crafting recipes and materials but it's like 7k evey craft plus the amount of time either getting the equipment to break or getting the zeni to buy the lvl 11 gloves from the weapon merchant in kokora village. I was just woundering can you still level your craft up with level 1 recipes when your about level 5 etc or do you have to use level 5 recipes till your level 10 then level 10 recipes and so fourth?

Sadly, you have to craft the highest level items you can to gain experience.
