In order to keep playing the game, and actually update/balance the game into what it was meant to be.

Just a suggestion; they're about a year off from releasing their game and will continue to update it.

Not saying it would be easy, but it's not like in SWG where they didn't even have access to a lot of the original game and had to rebuild it.

For one, does anyone have an actual CD copy of the game?

Also, start ARCHIVING the game and all screens and such you have. This especially includes any updates. One ofthe first things we would need to do is get a working packet sniffer for the game so we could see the data that goes to the server and what we already have on our machines from downloading the game.

Feel free to move this to the Private Server section :D

SWGEmu has been up and running for years; please go hide your ignorance in a hole in the ground.

Star Wars Galaxies is in a similar situation to this one, as in it has a crappy dev team, but still some great resources to work with and such. When the dev team turned their game into something unrecognizable, they took it upon themselves to recreate the game the way they liked it.

It's not a private server, it's a complete emulation of the game. So right off the bat, showing your ignorance Hawx

If you payed any attention to my posts,

About two weeks ago more or less, I posted a .pdf about server side emulation, what it is, how it works, etc.
You can dig it up fine.

I guess, all I wanted from DBO was like Single Player possibility. I mean, yeah play online with friends is good. But I always wanted to play Single Player DB game with story on PC.. Dumke - what do ya think, would that be easier to achieve? Or it would be the same as running a private server but I would be the only one playing there?

"Q. Does SWGEmu use any of Sony Online Entertainment's code?

A. The absolute and short answer is no. Every bit of code developed at the SWGEmu project has been written from scratch by freelance developer's committing their time and effort to the SWGEmu project without the benefit of financial gain.

Q. Has SWGEmu ever seen Sony Online Entertainment's code?

A. Absolutely not. In fact, Sony Online Entertainment persists that they have lost the code entirely. Not only does this make it impossible for SWGEmu to utilize the code as reference if Sony Online Entertainment was kind enough to grant permission to do so, but it makes it impossible for Sony Online Entertainment to release classic Pre-CU servers to rival what SWGEmu aims to accomplish.

Q. How does SWGEmu develop the software without Sony Online Entertainment's code?

A. SWGEmu's software is written through a process known as Reverse Engineering. By applying the Scientific Method, SWGEmu's developers observe game-play, and then attempt to recreate it's experience through programming"

They developed the game from scratch!

Can we move this tread to the private servers tread?

a Dragonball RPG, would be an interesting idea, but considering it's not that type of series, i'm not entirely sure how well it would do.

It could be a gold mine, but right now that wouldn't be the goal. it would save a ton of money, ish?
but it would be incredibly pointless. and single player games are the easily things to hack, why? because it's offline.

Yeah, you got the point there... but I was asking, would it be harder to make that single player possibility than private server?
