Last beta, lots of people were having trouble getting Korean characters to show in the game. So I have made a guide on how to do it for those who were having problems last time and may have problems in the future.
How to get Dragonball Online to show Korean language characters
To get Korean language characters to appear in the game, two items are required. Those two would be:
1. Korean System Locale
2. Korean Language Support
Changing the System Locale to Korean
Changing the System Locale is the easy part. Just follow these instructions for your corresponding OS:
Windows 2000
Follow these instructions:
1. From "Start" button, select "Regional Options" by following [Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Regional Options].
2. Under "Language Settings for the System", press "Set default" button. A "Select System Locale" window will pop up.
3. Select the appropriate language from the dropdown box. Click "OK" to close the "Select System Locale" window.
4. Click "OK" to close the "Regional Options" window.
5. You will be prompted to reboot your machine.
6. You can check your System Locale with MSinfo32. ("C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\msinfo32.exe")
Windows XP
Download the Microsoft Windows utility known as AppLocale from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
...and install. Now apply the program to Internet Explorer.
Note: In the list of locales you can apply, Korean is the second last one.
Note: You must apply Applocale on Internet Explorer before accessing Netmarble. The gamestart button will only launch the game with Korean characters if the IE window had a Korean locale.
Windows Vista
Follow the Instructions here:

Windows 7
Follow the Instructions here:

Installing Korean Language Support on your OS
Now the more difficult part is acquiring a Korean Language Pack. Just follow the instructions for your corresponding OS.
Windows 2000
Follow the Instructions under the "Windows 2000" section here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/177561
This might require you to have the Windows Installation disk. The languages are normally installed from that.
Windows XP
Follow the Instructions under the "Windows XP" section here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/177561
This might require you to have the Windows Installation disk. The languages are normally installed from that.
Windows Vista
Windows Vista Enterprise and Ultimate should include support for Korean Language upon installation.
If you use any other edition it may be possible to get the language pack through Windows update.
Windows 7
Windows 7 Enterprise and Ultimate should include support for Korean Language upon installation.
If you use any other edition it may be possible to get the language pack through windows update.
Questions and Answers
Here are some general questions that may on your mind and the answer to them.
Question 1. I have followed all of the steps, how do I check if my installation was successful?
Answer 1. To check if you installed support for the Korean language properly, just go to
here and see if you see the characters or if you see tiny squares. If you can see the text then that means the installation was successful.
Question 2. Why do I need the Korean language characters to appear if I can't read them anyway?
Answer 2. You don't NEED the characters to appear at all. The game is playable without them. But there are many advantages to having the text.
One advantage is that lots of the in-game text does not even appear if the language is not installed. Most notably, the numbers in the LP and EP bars do not appear without Korean Lang installed. In-game error messages do not appear either.
Another advantage is that sometimes when you are having trouble figuring out which enemy you have to kill for a quest, you can easily compare the names of the enemies from the one in the quest log.
I hope this guide helps you guys out. See you in the OB.
