The main site for this year's video game championships are up, which you can find
here. The rules and regulations for this year state that only Pokemon from the Unova region can compete, and battles are four-on-four doubles. Victini, Reshiram and Zekrom are banned from the competition, along with any of the region's event Pokemon, which haven't yet been released anyway.
I didn't have the opportunity to go last year, but I'll be coming this year for sure. I'm in the senior's division this time, meaning I won't have to go up against any people around the age of 20+ this time around, which is a relief. I'll probably be able to thrash most of the people in my age group if they haven't done their homework on the game. I've been working on my strategy for a while, which consists primarily of using combinations that play of each other in double battles. (like dual screens, guard share, tailwind, and so on) I'm still working out the kinks in my team at the moment, because considering my team fits together like a jigsaw puzzle, is going to be a little challenging. You're allowed to use a total of 6 Pokemon, but only 4 can be in the battle at once.
After I get things worked out to where I'm comfortable with them, I plan on leveling my team up to 100 in case anyone there wants to battle outside of the competition.
