I guess thats cool. Even though i was okay with my parents being with me when I bought games. I think that the Supreme Court has too much power. They're pretty much the supreme beings of our judicial system, saying something is constitutional or not; but thank goodness they use it for good ( Brown vs. Board of Education). But kids nowadays are straight up crazy without playing games where you get rewarded for blowing up someones head. I understand freedom of speech, but what happens when someone kills their parents for taking away their game, or someone jacking cars and shooting police officers...again.

Video games dont make people violent. video games just give creative ideas to those violent kids. If your child has a tendency to to threaten people get into fights 24/7 and is constantly bullied... yeah lets not buy him GTA so he can take his principles car after shooting up the playground...... |

I get rated M games by asking my cousin's girlfriend to come and pretend that she's my mom and it works every time :D

Um, I'm actually 17 years old, but I guess voicing my opinion makes me a little kid. And the examples i cited actually happened, i'm just saying that if kids who already have mental problems ( which there are ) can now get violent games by themselves. I think leaving game ratings to the ESRB was okay, but whatever.

And I never said video games made people violent. I said if someone has violent tendencies now its easier for them to get games that will amplify them. Don't shoot down my opinion when you dont even take into account what i'm actually saying.

How is that impossible? The Supreme Court just said something was unconstitutional, and it became unconstitutional, you're just nitpicking so you can have an argument. And my Brown v. Board was connected to my point that the Supreme Court has a lot of power. You're saying it like I don't like video games, but since im on this site i obviously do. I agree that I did contradict my statement, but there are people who are influenced by video games , but not only video games.

I never shot down your opinion i just made my own referencing yours. Also Luffy is right in the fact the supreme court doesnt supreme rule us they were just determining it was against constitutional rights which it is. Now stop shooting down others opinions you made your opinion leave it at that. |

when i was under 18 i used to hate that id have to beg my mother for the newest rated M game. but now that im older i can look at the rating system and appreciate it. IT not there to annoy kids its to makes sure the parents know what there kids are playing not to say kids shouldnt be allowed to play but the parents should have a say.
Me personally i wouldn't let my little sister play black ops the story is full of vulgar language and gore. Not that i think she is going to pick up an M16 and shoot up her school but id prefer she diddnt get comfortable using that kind of language at her age.

Maybe I didn't say this quite right. I have total respect for the ratings system, and I don't mind needing parental permission to purchase M-rated games, it's just that it's just one of those little things in life that irritates me from time to time. I mean, my parents are pretty restrictive, so I'm not allowed to play M-rated games or watch R-rated movies without their consent. They know what I buy, and they pay attention to it, so it's not a huge deal for me. With less restrictive parents, though, it's definitely a help if you ask me. |
