So you can't evolve pets without real currency?

You can evolve a pet without anythng from cash shop. All y pets are lvl 4 and i have never cashed for them.

how do they gain xp? i bought something for 60000 zeni and it only gave my pet 3820 xp over 2 hours... it will take soooo much time and zeni

I evolved my pet once and I was trying to do a second evolution. However, every time I try it says that it failed and it won't let me evolve my pet.

If I understood correctly you can evolve your pet up to level 3 without cash.
