This new update gives users some customization over the area behind their signatures. I've added four new fields under "Edit Avatar & Sig Back" in the User CP :

Signature Background Display
This controls whether or not you'll be able to see other users' signature backgrounds. Setting this to "Don't Display" will allow you view all users on the forums as having the default background. If you do set this option to "Don't Display" your signature background will still be visible to all other members who have the option set to "Display". This setting can be found in "Thread Display Options" under "Edit Options".

Default Value : Display

Background Image
Here you can specify an image that will appear behind your signature. The image must be a gif, jpg, or png file. You can upload images to free image hosting sites (like Photobucket) and then put the link to the image in this field. How the image is displayed can be changed under "Signature Background Settings"

Default value : Nothing

Background Color
Here you can specify what color the background behind your signature will be. You must input the hex value of the color (don't include the # sign). To find a color's hex value check out this website.

Default value : E1E4F2

Background Settings
Here you can specify how the image aligns and whether or not it repeats. Below is the list of options you can set, separate your options with a space and don't pick any options that contradict each other (like top and bottom).

Vertical Alignment
top : Places your image at the top of the area behind your signature.
center : Places your image in the middle (vertically) of the area behind your signature.
bottom : Places your image at the bottom of the area behind your signature.

Horizontal Alignment
left : Places your image on the left hand side of the area behind your signature.
center : Places your image in the middle (horizontally) of the area behind your signature.
right : Places your image on the right hand side of the area behind your signature.

Repeating
repeat : Repeats the image horizontally and vertically.
repeat-x : Repeats the image horizontally.
repeat-y : Repeats the image vertically.
no-repeat : Doesn't repeat the image.

Default value : top left repeat

Again the order doesn't matter, all that matters is that you spell each setting correctly and only use at most 1 setting from each category (horizontal alignment, vertical alignment, and repeating).

The same rules for signatures apply to signature background images. Don't have any huge file sizes or offensive images. Also, please don't use animated images that might be too distracting.

If you find any bugs with these options or have any comments: post them in this thread.

I used a Photobucket image from my account first, then I just found one on Google.

Both are JPG. Maybe they're too big?

First one will work now, second one has to end in .jpg .gif or .png

Ohh, thanks.

You actually just need to remove that bit on the end for your second.
