I have a NA (North American) 3DS, people have said that the 3DS games are region locked but the DS games aren't. If I were to import the game would it work on my 3DS? Some people I ask say it will, but I have an import of NSMB and it doesn't work, it loads at the main home menu, but when I try to play the game it gives me an error. So I was wondering if anyone had any first hand knowledge on the subject. Does anyone here have a NA 3DS with a copy of the game and it works?

Thanks

While the 3DS is region locked, original DS games have no region encoding. You should be able to play Ultimate Butoden just find on an American 3DS because it's not a 3DS game. If it were, there are ways to get around the region encoding, but I'm not an exepert on them.

A friend of mine just imported a 3DS from Japan because she wanted to play Inazuma Eleven games on them. It's expensive, but importing a Japanese one has no chance of messing up your system.
