Be lucky.

Don't waste your time using a guide, they don't help. The game chooses whether you can have a dragonball or not. No guide will ever help you get more dragonballs, you just can't be unlucky. Sure, they can tell you how to run around and find the mobs for it, but you can kill as many as you want and never get a single ball. If you happen to be one of those people, I would advise you to never go on another hunt(or start hunting, for that matter), because it will take you months to get about 3 balls.

(Just raging behind the screen because I can't seem to ever get anything in hunts. I get up at midnight on a busy weekday to try and play this and get something out of it but it never seems to happen, so I feel like i'm wasting time when i could be sleeping. take this post as you will. feel free to post your complaints about how badly your hunts go too, and whatnot.)

Finding dragonball is a matter of luck.
You can increase your luck by increasing the quantity of dragonball holding monsters being killed by you.

The easiest way to increase the quanitity is using this guide.

Using this method In kr server. We were able to collect I think 10? I know it was more then 7 cause 1 person made a wish.

You guys tips on spots to hunt in?

There is defiantly some tactics to finding dragon balls, when i first started looking for them it never worked. for one a lot of new people DO NOT know that you have to be within 5 level of the stuff you are killing to find a dragon ball. AND its much harder to get to the dragon ball on your radar at level 40+ compared to having a small character run around and find them for you(1 kill every 10-15 mins) compared to (10 kills every 15 minutes) up your odds Dramatically and i found a very nice area that i cover and switch channels when its cleared. and 3 balls a month is insane. i easily find anywhere from 2-5 balls a night. there has only been two nights ever where i found less than that. :) just saying..

I'm very glad you posted this, at the time I posted first I had forgotten about the dual-clienting method. I'm planning on trying this after my last hunt was very much unsuccessful, as you may have seen implied in the post...

The only thing I'm worried about is, since you're running 2 clients, doesn't it chew up more resources on your PC, maybe slowing it down?

honestly i found that if you hunt and crave the damn dragonball you wont get it so what i do is just quest and when i see a dragonball mob kill it it drops more like that for me than when i hunt this is just my opinion

8 in one run on tw server, db hunting is easy.

So... no one's willing to share a good spot...

I think you have seen thats un true shattered lol i crave the heck out of them and i even found a spare one for you after i found zairi all 7 of hers in 2 night? lol you just gotta know where to look :) finding 3-5 dragonballs a night is pretty nice :)
