If i were to mail my legendary pants from a drop to another character and I upgrade my pants with that char, will it make the pants binded?

I have noticed that with items that binds it is only binded once equipped so if you do not equip it, it will not bind.
Only if it says bind(active) is when it won't work.

Just dont use them and u can pass it around as many times as u want
