I've just come back to DBO after about a year of not playing, and I'm still used to the old scouter system so I'm a little confused now.
With the old scouter, aside from the stat boost chips, you had certain chips to inspect someone. Also, there was a chip where you could scan the entire map for quests.
Are these functions still possible with the new scouter?
Yes, all of those things are still possible, but they are now listed as 'effects' on scouters (like stat effects on other equipment), so you'll have to find one that does the things you want. I don't think the stats are translated as of yet (they are still in chinese for me), but I know you can get a scouter with dragon radar and quest search in Korin's Village. If you, had a scouter before the update, then you should have a free one waiting for you in your cash shop. Also, quest search is now activated by clicking a check-box in the map window.
