Hello I read the previous post about the community slowly depleting. I have seen this too with some of my close friends leave to play other games. Its a shame but it doesnt have to be like that imo.

Why not give some of the members a chance to contribute. I personally get tired of making a post about something that would be cool and every time someone popping up and saying "sorry we arnt taking suggestions right now". Yeah I know that but there are alot of people on the website that want to talk about the future. Im not saying add everything that I want because the number one priority is to get a server running then modify the game, but I am just talking and posting. If you dont like it then dont click on it or make a post of your own or ask admin to make a sub forum and call it "dreaming".

Back to the main reason for me posting. I respect the dbor team for what they are doing and I have asked to be a part of it many times. You have a large community available here, imagine if everyone made something for the game? Wouldnt it be done sooner? Im not talking about splitting the work down the middle otherwise we could end up playing a dbo game that was as fucked up as Frankenstein's face was. Im talking about the little things that should be delegated like fan art, banners for facebook ect. Leave the real stuff for the team to handle that will get more progress and then just get others to do stuff that you shouldnt be doing.

So why not have a to-do list on the website that is aimed at the forum users not the team? Forum users could submit their work and help.

Now I know someone is reading this and thinking "we cant show progress for security reasons" which if im going to be honest I dont really understand (if someone can explain that to me I will be extremely grateful through a PM or a comment).

Thanks for reading

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking.

Okay its not about me trying to get in the dbops team. Its about using a community of people to get parts of the project complete.
So for example if you needed a facebook banner(I know thats already been done on your facebook page), you could post it up in the to-do list for the community to submit their work. Instead of taking time from a member of the team who could be used for a more important task.

There are people in the team who are assigned to specific roles such as that though, so there isn't really any need for people outside to help unless they join the team themselves.

There's no need but it would decrease time to make the game. In terms of quality well that depends on how its managed and the process for getting help.

There isn't any need for people with no experience helping as they will just get in the way , this is why it's bad for everyone to have a role . They will release it in time and that's all there is too it I guess .

How would it decrease time to make the game? I don't think one person who's only job is to make banners for facebook doing their job is gonna help/hurt the games development in any way.

Let's say you were added to the team to make banners/logos and shit like that. How is this going to help the games development go faster? It won't.

Ofcourse I want to be a part of it, Im not hiding that? Coverup? This post isnt really about me its about using a community of people to help complete tasks that dbor shouldnt be wasting their time on.

I said that as example, what I'm getting at is like this.. Pretend there isnt someone in the team who makes facebook banners. (I know dbor isnt structured like this but again its just an example) The team has only coders and programmers. Then they could just post up in the community that they need a facebook banner, many people post up their work and they could be voted on. The best one is the facebook banner and you have not taken a coder or programmer (who's skills are more valuable programming the game) off a task to make a silly facebook banner.

Let's say you were added to the team to make banners/logos and shit like that. How is this going to help the games development go faster? It won't.

I see what your point is, but if that task has to be done then its adding more things on the To-do list for the real life force of the dbor team the programmers. (Before anyone kicks off I'm saying that because without coders then the game wouldn't be made)

This way of communicating with the members of the forum is really going to mobilize a community into doing things to help out dbor. It doesnt have to have we need a facebook banner on the to-do list. It could be "share us on facebook" "Retweet this post to NTL", £000 that we need for the server, Refer a friend to join the forum, just examples people but this way you can aim everyone in the community to help, instead of having to PM people to see what they can do to help. But basically Im thinking about it as a business, dbor are in a great position if they use the community of people here to help them. Any business would kill to get the sort of committed fans that dbo had and dbor has. Together with the team and the community you could do anything. IMO

Creating a banner is not that hard lol....just watch a video or maybe 2 videos on youtube and you can create banners....
Here in forums are enough ppl who can easily create some but for now it's not needed...and for ppl who wanna join the DBOPS/DBOR Team read the last post: http://dbocom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44752&page=15 and again to remember here are the Members of the Team: http://dbocom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44752

as you can see they have everyone they need...so for now just let them work on the Project.....
