I came across Spiral Knights, which is essentially
Turns out it came out recently this month - like, 25 days ago? - and was actually quite fun to play, and has some classic midi music. The game does everything a Zelda-esque MMO should do and more. The only drawback is the Energy system, which seems like somewhat of a hassle. but it's a nice way to limit gameplay if your not looking to devote your whole day to an MMO.

the GIST of it, if you dont wanna go try it yourself, is that there are two energy types: Crystal, and Mist. They can be used for the same stuff in the game, but the difference is that Crystal can be bought, traded, etcetera, more or less like currency, and costs 3800 Crowns (the in-game currency) for 100 energy, or 75 cents for 200. the game is a Dungeon Gauntlet. There are several dungeons, all of which span 50 or so floors into the planet's depths - and Energy is used for more or less everything. it costs 10 energy to descend to the next level, Energy of varying amounts to revive your Knight, energy to craft Weapons and Armor using the alchemy system (not really important until later on) and so forth.

It's still quite a bit of fun, and if your not looking to devote your whole day to an MMO it's a nice way to limit play-time. Since you recover Mist energy when not playing, and it takes a full day to build back up - so you play until you run out of Mist energy, break and come back tomorrow.

sounds like a game that tells you to take a break.
BUt it does seem cool.

It's similar in basic mechanics to the DS and old top down Zeldas. Dungeon crawl, throw pots, kill monsters, open gates, step on buttons, etc.

You have a slash and shield mechanic as well as some ranged weaponry and elixir spells.

I played this some months back (Somewhere in December ~ January, or so?) when it was in Closed Beta and it was a pretty neat game.

The Energy System killed it, though. >_> After you ran out of energy, you pretty much either had to wait weeks for your energy to build back up or pay money to continue playing. They stated at one point that they were going to rework that system, but apparently, they decided not to and to keep it the way it was. Due to that, I don't think I'm going to play it again. :|
